"YTC Guard®" |

Effective with all Fire Sprinkler products 1" through 6" produced on or after September 18th, 2006,
Youngstown Tube Company will identify our MIC (Microbiological Influenced Corrosion) protective
coating as "YTC Guard®".
"YTC Guard®" is accomplished by not only applying the non toxic biostatic coating during manufacturing, but also the practice of storing all products indoors to insure a corrosion free product every time. The combination of Youngstown Tubes biostatic coating (Potter Pipe-Shield™) and clean, corrosion free pipe reduces the chance of bacteria attaching itself to the wall of the pipe, decreasing the chance for the development of MIC. The "YTC Guard®" process will not only help to protect the pipe itself, it also helps protect the system once it is put in service. The biostatic coating becomes a concentrated MIC fighting solution that is distributed throughout the entire system. Continued monitoring of the system is required to ensure that the fight against MIC continues into the future. |
